#3 Nora Howell's art exhibit Now You See Me, Now You...at Gallery CA

Getting to meet artists of all types in Baltimore is one of the coolest perks of about living here amongst so many other creatives. After photographing Katie’s @katiepumphreyart art show at Creative Alliance, she recommended me to Nora Howell @norahowellart to document her art show “Now You See Me, Now You…” at Gallery CA @galleryca

Nora creates sculptures out of porcelain, rope, ribbons, yarn, and other mixed media and uncommon objects, like receipts and brooms.

I got to get up close to her sculptures and photograph her big opening night at Gallery CA and witness everyone meeting her work for the first time.

It was a favorite shoot of mine because it was my first time photographing of all kinds, 3D, 2D, installation and performance art (she hired a model to hand out white icing cupcakes wearing a delicate and heavy handmade sculptural headpiece).

Nora made me feel instantly at home and welcome in her gallery space. A few hours before opening night, she, her mom and siblings put the last few finishing touches on the show and readied the space while I photographed the pieces and took portraits of Nora. Such a delightful family.
